Thanks again and always, for the support.... it's what makes it all worth while.

Summer 2010
Screeched in!!!

This summer was a busy one for us. Lots of travelling and lots of sun, which was a nice added bonus.

In July, we played in Eastport NFLD for the 25th Anniversary of Seafest. The venue was set right beside the amazing Eastport beach. The weather was a bit on the rainy side but that did not dampen the party or the turnout...only in Newfoundland!!

Friday night, along with several other "tourists", we got to be screeched in. There was no escaping it, but we managed to make it out alive. We still can not look at a cod fish the same! We have added a few pics of the festivities for ye to 'ave a gander. Long may yer long jib draw!..or something like that.

The show was sectioned off so that young kids and teenagers could take part as well. It was great to see some of the kids dancing and singing, especially little Dakota, who is our biggest fan.

Thanks to all committee members and volunteers for making us feel at home. A big thanks to the Squire family for all you have done for us.

We are looking forward to a busy fall and winter and always look forward to seeing you at the show!

Winter.2009/2010
A Crazy Winter!

Hey folks! We'd like to share a few great experiences with you. We've had such a great fall/winter this year, thanks to all of you who came out to catch a show.

Along the way, we were fortunate to be invited back to the Sobey's Christmas Party where we were treated like family! A special "Thank You" to all of you at Sobey's for joining us that night. It was great to have you dancing from the first note :)

Then to ring in the New Year, and new decade, we had an amazing experience in Digby (for the second time). We saw lots of familiar faces, especially in Mark's case, as Digby is his hometown! What a fantastic evening!

Thank you, everyone, from the Digby Fire Department...especially Jeff...for treating us so well!

Another event that stands out is our first show at the Crazy Horse in Kanata, ON. WOW! As you can see from the photos, this bar is an awesome time! We'd like to thank all the cowboys and cowgirls who made us feel at home. If you are ever in the area, you've GOT to check out this bar!

Thanks a million, Jen (Davidson), for taking the great pics!

And also, we'd like to say it's been great seeing our friends and meeting new ones in our regular venues. We appreciate you having fun with us!

Summer.2009
Rock'n the 'Rock' and more!

Hi everyone!

Another awesome summer full of shows and travel.

We had a wonderful trip to Newfoundland for the Carol Squire Memorial Fundraiser back in June. Thanks to all the family for making it feel like home! The four of us also got to experience George Street...I am pretty sure we had a good time from what I remember.

We also got to play at the Miramichi Rock n' Roll Festival for the second time. It was an absolute blast, just like the year before. The photos for this entry were taken by Jim Bond of Jim's Digital, Miramichi, NB. Thanks so much Jim! Also, thanks to Brian, Phil and the gang for all their hard work running the production for the show.

All of us in the band want to thank you all for coming out to shows and supporting what we do. We are looking forward to the coming months and hope to see ya's soon!!

That's right...VAN HALEN!!!

Well the odds were in our favor when we hit the big city of Toronto this past month because one of the greatest bands of all time was just down the street from us. Of course we are huge fans of Van Halen and they kicked some serious ass at the Air Canada Centre. Diamond Dave back with the band...good times! Sorry Crystal and Kirk, we don't mean to rub it in your face!! ;) Big thanks to Scott for hooking us up with the tickets.

Things have been very good since the last update. We have been working on some new tunes for the show and we are having lots of fun as usual. We had a great trip to Ottawa on Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you Tina for the awesome turkey diner. It was so nice to have some home cooking while on the road.

We are looking forward to the rest of 2007 and we hope to see you at a show soon!!

High Notes and Low notes.

First of all, we are very excited to officially announce the newest member of Shaydid, Mr. Kirk Hazel on the bass!! Kirk has been playing with us since the first week of July and is fitting in seamlessly. Kirk is a monster talent and has played with many Maritime artists in his career. We are very fortunate to have him join the team.

Our best friend Stephane moved on from the band to pursue other goals including starting his own sound production company called Deep Sound Productions. Check out Deep Sound Productions on myspace.com. Steph, we wish you all the best! We threw in a few of our favorite pics of Stephane.

Thanks to Darrin we all had the pleasure of meeting and becoming very close friends with his girlfriend, Carol Squire, who we lost just a few weeks ago. Although we are saddened that she is no longer with us, we can't help but celebrate the person that she was. Her thoughtful ways and generosity will live on through us all. Darrin would like to thank everyone for all the love and support they have given.

Ladies and Gentlemen, "Flavor D" is in da band house!! Fight the Power!!!

Well, we made it through another winter and are looking forward to a busy
summer. We just played Peake's Quay a couple of weeks ago, so that is a sure sign that summer is coming.

We would like to send out a BIG THANKS to our friend Derek Webb for filling in for Darrin while he was down South basking in the Cuban sun and rum. Derek learned a bunch of songs in 3 days and kicked some serious ass!! Thanks buddy for all your hard work.

We've got some great crowd pics from Cheers and The Tide for you to check out as well as some bloopers...good times!

We look forward to some warm weather and some great parties with you all.

See you soon!!!

Ever been COFFEE TABLE SURFING before???

All you need is a few beverages, two Shaydid members, a few more beverages and a guy named Mike full of beverages!!. Guess which two members...

It has been a while since the last update, so here goes...It has been busy for us with a couple of stops in New Brunswick, a stop at the center of the universe..Toronto (at least that's how it was describe by the flight attendant when we landed there), a St. Patty's Day party in CFB Greenwood and a fun filled weekend at the Pogue Fado.

We've got some great crowd pics from Dolan's Pub and Gracies in Toronto for you to check out. As well as a few pics of da band!!

We are also very excited because we are going to see The Police this summer. Can you say ROAD TRIP!! For those of you who don't know, Crystal is a HUGE Sting fan...she likes his music too. Should be a blast!

We apologize that our calender was not updated promptly..technical issues. You can always get an updated version of our calender from our Myspace page as well as our Facebook group. We hope that this will not happen again.

We look forward to all of our spring shows and hope to party with you all soon!!!

Cast your vote!

We gotta tell ya...Darrin fits in perfectly! We know you know it, too, because we've been getting some fantastic feedback! During the first few weeks, we would introduce Darrin as our new guitar player and your response was overwhelming! Many were shocked to learn that he's only been with us a few weeks!

February is flying by! Since the New Year, we have partied from Halifax to Ottawa with a few stops in between. We had an amazing experience in the Mirimachi (our very first visit!) and again in St. John. Speaking of which, we had a great opportunity to play at Harbour Station during one of the Sea Dogs games. We had so much fun with the Sea Dogs fans, especially the little ones! You should see them dance! The event was actually a "Battle of the Bands" and we'd like to thank those of you who voted for us.

You have a second opportunity to vote if you wish...The voting for all the bands will start again on the Web Site (saintjohnseadogs.com)
from Tuesday, February 13 to Friday, February 16.

We are very excited about our Winter-Spring dates. We hope to see you along the way!

New Site, New Member, New Memories!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. There has been a lot going on in "Shaydid land" so I will bring you up to date.

Our great friend Rob has departed from the band to move on to other things. Rob was the co-founder of the band along with Stephane. We have had a lot of great times and a lot of laughs over the past few years. We have posted some of our favourite pics of him in action. Rob has had a successful guitar teaching practice for the past couple of years and is accepting new students. Anyone interested can contact him at (902) 678-8855. Rob, you will be missed and we wish you all the best.

So who is taking over the guitar playing? We are very fortunate and happy to have Darrin Shaw as the newest member of Shaydid. Darrin has been playing with the great Halifax band Shameless for many years and brings a wealth of ability and experience to the table.

We have been getting ready for the line up change over the past couple of months. Included are some rehearsal pics from Mark and Crystal's house.

There are lots of new tunes and some cool twists on some of our favourites.

We are also very excited to have this new site and would like to send out a huge thanks to Stephen Dawe, the designer, for doing such an awesome job.

Hope you enjoy and here's to a great 2007!
